Arnold Shaw
I was raised on a farm seventeen miles South East of Elrose Saskatchewan and I attended a one room country school for grades one through ten.
I started to play the guitar in school one winter when it was too harsh to go out during recess. Our teacher brought his guitar to school and showed us a few chords and how to play “On Top of Old Smokey”. I have played and sang ever since.
I haven’t played for a real audience since I was a teenager until this spring when a friend Marty Brown suggested I enter this Zoomer Idol Contest. I am interested in all kinds of popular music and always have a tune going on in my head.

Dave Hiebert
Dave Hiebert is a trained tenor who finds singing a natural way to open his heart. Growing up in a protected rural Mennonite world, he was unfamiliar with the Beatles until well after high school. As an adult he now really digs their vibe.
Over the years, Dave has lent his voice to numerous community choirs, opera choruses, and intimate “mindful café” performances at the Sherbrooke Community Centre. You’re likely to find him boldly singing Schubert, Billy Bragg, or Woody Guthrie while walking down the street or tending to his garden.

Sharon Nordick
I am Sharon Nordick, a lifelong lover of music whose journey began in Englefeld, Saskatchewan. My formal introduction to music came through piano lessons and Glee Club in school. A vacation in Hawaii introduced me to the ukulele. One evening, a performer included Stairway to Heaven in her set, and I was mesmerized. As fate would have it, I found myself at The World’s Largest Flea Market where I bought my first ukulele.
Music shaped my life in countless ways. Singing with Magic City Chorus, Eclipse Chorus, and Joy of Vox has been a gift. For me, music is more than melody; it is a bridge that connects us, a companion through life’s highs and lows.
