Sophie's Story

Sophie Foster

Sophie Foster, who turned 106 on October 29, 2020, learned to use technology to enrich her own life and the lives of others. An active member of the Saskatoon Council on Aging Century Club, Sophie is committed to education and lifelong learning. In the mid-1990s, Sophie was introduced to the world of computers by her grandchildren. She began her technology journey with a second hand computer and moved up to an Apple iPad that she could take with her. She tried out many different things with her device; including downloading audio books from the library. She also transitioned from typing letters to sending emails. Email remains her means of communication with family members.

“If you live to be over 100 like I did, there’s always things I could be learning.”
