Adopt-a-Grandchild Pilot Project
The Adopt-a-Grandchild Pilot Program of Saskatoon was created to encourage and support relationships between different generations.
This Program matched older adults with families to:

promote intergenerational cooperation and understanding

provide mature older adults with the opportunity to share their skills, life experiences and interests with one another

improve health and well being of volunteer grandparents and grandchildren through meaningful social interaction

adults were required to provide a minimum of 3 references, police record check and a child abuse record check
The Council was unable to find an agency to adopt this program after the pilot ended.
